Transportation & Flood Control
Transportation and Flood Control identify the need for infrastructure improvements in the County and work with the community to ensure the projects meet the needs of our customers. Staff in these divisions also identify resources to provide funding for the projects.

Design Division
After completion of preliminary planning and acquisition of funding, a project is then transferred to the Design Division for production of the final design. The completed project is then advertised to contractors.

Additional Divisions

Engineering Services Division reviews developer's plans for construction of infrastructure to ensure they meet State and County standards.

Real Property Division provides staff to act as real property agents for the County and purchase property needed for construction of projects.

Administrative Services Division provides internal personnel and clerical support to the entire department.

Airports
Public Works also supervises the operation and maintenance of two airports in Concord and Byron which serve the needs of recreational and corporate pilots.
